Strawberries - From Earth to Tabletop
The first photo are the strawberries covered for the cold days. The next photo shows them uncovered for those warm sunny days we got throughout the winter and last the strawberry plant are off the earth and back on the tabletops. Here it is March and we are already seeing blooms so they are anxious to get going. However we will pull blooms for a month and get the plants growing good first. OzBF is shooting for a late May picking.

Winter work is over
Like any plant t Like any planting there is only so much nutrients available to feed the plant. Pruning helps remove the less productive and older canes. Last year our season went much longer than usual. We are assuming that was due to the older canes which produce later. So we took out a lot of the oldest canes which should then produce less but larger berries for you.
